Charlie, is there any way you can contact the buyer and ask them if you can scan the slides

 

eBay anonymize the user names of other buyers, and sellers are breaking the rules if they pass on contact information about a buyer to third parties. This makes it extremely difficult for one buyer to contact another.

Just an update o where I am with this project. I have more than enough images to complete the project, but I am missing photos of a few models of diesel locomotive. They are:

Whitcomb 44 ton (road #3)
GE 45 ton (road #11)
GE 70 ton (road #12)

As the roster information above suggests, these units were rather rare, particularly since the "fleet" in each instance consisted of just one unit. However, if anyone has a clear color photo of any of the above, either as a slide or digital image, that is not already copyrighted, please contact me so we can arrange to have it included in this volume.

I am watching two crazy auctions right now for slides of Frisco buisiness cars in orange and white paint.

One slide of #1 is currently at over $200. Two slides on #2 are up ver 500.... I certainly couldn't afford that much for one or two slides. I wouldn't expect the group to be able to either. ( and these are both auctions that started at $5 , so someone is willing to pay that much....)

I can't think of a good reason to pay that much for any O&W slide.

Here is an update on the book project. I have gone through all the slides (and a couple of scans) that I have here and have winnowed the pile down to about 260 or so images, which is the number the publisher wants. I have at least one photo of every type of diesel locomotive the Frisco had EXCEPT for a Whitcomb 44-ton unit (road number 3). Does anyone remember whether we have ever posted this unit in the Archive? I have gone through the material I have here a couple of times and cannot locate one. It is the only thing I am missing. If somebody can point me in the right direction, please advise.
