Finally got that SCL unit out and to work a few days ago.
And looks like the QA&P got another used caboose.
The SL-SF 300 was caught spotting up the RIP's

Very neat modeling scenes! It looks like the giant QA&P might just be thinking about gobbling up the Frisco in a merger!!?? :)

Love that transfer caboose! Your weathering skills make it look so real. Especially the trucks.

It's been noticed - the weathering on the transfer cab ... but the weathering on the 300 is simply outstanding, Tom. Please post this set of pictures over at the Model Railroad Forum either in the weekly photo fun, or coffee shop. I'm sure that guys there would like to see tham as well + need some Frisco support there too!
P.S. You photography skills have improved too! Those are some very realistic trackside photos.

Been looking for this car for a long time ;) Finally got home home rails. With the harvest going on and a bumper crop, the QA&P is moving a lot of grain.

Very nice Tom! What HO Center Flow model is QAP 100 (and 838) based on?

About 100 yes ago the QAP made it to Floydada, the intention was Lubbock, but Lubbock was not in the budget and they basically settled on Floydada. So. In my world the QAP did go to Floydada via a Y switch just past Roaring Springs and to Lubbock in 1916.
I know it ain't prototype, I work on the prototype. I don't want to feel tied down to that lol.
    Rule 1 right?

Amen on rule #1 Tom. One of these days I'll finish my Frisco SLSF based on the Frisco public timetable cover!

Rule #1 is the best thing ever. You can't go wrong with that rule.

Understand completely. That's why I've opted to resurrect my Kansas City & Gulf theme to become the primary road on my upcoming KC Lines layout. That way, I can control the elements instead of hand-wringing over the compromises I have to make when trying to replicate prototype scenes/places. (Like the hand-wringing I did the other two times I had Frisco-devoted layouts.) So, the Frisco stuff will appear on the layout and be used and enjoyed... but not tied down with trying to reproduce/replicate/represent any specific prototype scene thereon.

Fun is where you find it!

  19. Tom do you print all your own QA&P decals? They look great. Your models do as well. Nice job.

Frankly, Tom, I think that might explain your prodigious output of models and photos. Too often I bog myself down with counting rivets or whether there was a utility pole here or a fire plug there, but I think I'm starting to get over it. :) Nice work, and keep them coming.
