...to look at it and I've been working on it. So, do you think it's better?

Yes. It took me a bit to get the hang of it, with some timely coaching from you, but I like it. Speed has been very good lately.

It's better in virtually every way.

The new website is great! Search functions are better and really narrow down what your looking for. The only thing I can think of for an improvement is to highlight key words in search like the previous software. Over all I would give the website a 95% improvement.

I noticed some small icons at the far right of threats and wonder what they mean. This thread has a pair of eyeglasses while most have a lock and a few show a thumbtack.

The eyeglasses mean you are watching a thread. The lock means that the thread is closed. The thumbtack means the topic is pinned at the top.

    Anything else? :)

I like the new format and am getting used the navigating on it. However I still wish there was a portal page with links to other sites like the old software had.

I, too, miss the old Portal page. Also it was much easier to follow recent messages/threads with having every photo posted to the Archives included in the list of recent messages. But then I'm just old and resistant to change . . . . . .

    Gordon,

You can see the new photos with a single click.

    new_media.jpg

Although this does involve a mouse click, you might learn to like this better in time. This page will show you all of the new items that have been uploaded since your last visit (and larger than the old site). I think that's a very cool feature!

Nothing is perfect, or any one thing is not completely better than any other thing (other than the Frisco Railroad, St. Louis Cardinals, etc.), but overall this will be much better.

There is nothing wrong with being resistant to change. As I have stated before, I am someone who is happy with a black and white TV because most Turner Classic Movies presentations are not in color, but on the Internet change is something that we can't be too opposed to because it is going to keep changing. It's going to constantly change.

As a matter of fact, this is version 1.5 of Xenforo. They are working on 2.0, which promises a big re-work. So, hang on and don't leave your seat.

    Robert,

Do you mean these, or some other links?

What I really like is the fact that I do not have to log on just to view a photo. I'm sure that I have a lot to learn about it but I'll get there. Thanks for the Fine Effort.

I miss the old recent activity page the most. Now its just a small column on the right side of the screen, and its congested with all the image posts to the archive. also I miss the big images on the threads, now they are just little thumbnails that I cant make out unless I click them. Other than that I am getting used to it.

They don't have to be small. See my tutorial on that. The big pictures are best.

Well, people here tend to be passive to some degree. I would like to see more participation.

Why does Rosie have to make things so complicated?

We'll be at the game tomorrow. Go 'birds!

Yes, these and the links to social media sites. I guess i'm like Gordon says he is , getting old and set in my ways. That's me now, I don't tolerate change well even though I fully understand the necessity for it.
