I'm afraid we can't do that. However, if you are not here for a week, then "new posts" will have a lot of stuff. I'm not sure how many days but it will be a lot. The activity stream goes back 30 days though if you click on "more" at the bottom. What is your issue with the activity stream?

It's no big deal, and it doesn't seem to bother anyone else. I just inquired in the first place because I wondered why the board wasn't reacting like it had in the past?? I'll just follow the "new posts" and "activity stream."

    Tom,

We aim to please, and if we all back up a few steps, the goal of the site is to further what we all believe in. The rest is just details. Sometimes people look at things one way or the other. That's only natural.

We want to get the most content in front of as many interested users as possible. How to do that and how to cater to people's preferences within the confines of the software is difficult. We intend to find ways to get people the content they want and to facilitate interactions and information retrieval from the site. The easier people can find things the more replies will be posted and more people will be engaged in any particular topic.

Again, how to do it is subject to interpretation.

Will throw in my nickel (inflation adjusted two cents).
I agree with both Paul first and Tom second, but .....
I can work with it ...
I always go to "posts" first because I can select which post I want to look at first and then punch the latest addition to that post and so on.
I know that it's probably because I am not used to it, but the Active Stream may have a dozen replys to the same message .. does that make reason?

Anyway, I am proud of all your work, Charlie. Thank God that we have people here - and there are several more - who do their best to make this Forum the best around.

The reasoning on this is that most posts are pretty short and the text on the activity stream shows you a truncated preview that in many cases shows the whole post. For a longer post you have to click over if you are interested in reading the whole thing. Since it shows all posts, you can generally stay on that page and you are pretty much up to date. If you want to reply or read more then you can click over. It reduces a lot of clicking.
