    Hi Manny
Please tell me what car kit you started this project with. I've been using the MDC 34' old timer refers and boxes mostly because they are cheap and plentiful but I'd love to build some nice cars like the one you built. Also, are you ordering your decals or are you making them? I've been ordering decals from Cloverhouse and plan to make a big order from Art Griffen soon, he offers a set for the Missouri and North Arkansas box that I want to slap on some nice models.

The car is made from LaBelle's Detroit & Macinac 34' Box Car kit. It was heavily modified by myself. I get my decals from Art Griffin. He has one, M&NA 2028, which I just received, and a Palace Stock Car for the M&NA.

Y'all are somethin' else. I humbled. Truly. But don't drink in honor of me. Who am I that I deserve as such? Raise your glasses and toast yourselves. Toast others here on the board. For y'all are one great modeling family and I am but just a small part. For all you Frisco Folks do, this Bud's for you!

    God bless!

Good work, Manny. Gussie Busch would be proud.

Goin' to the Lake of the Ozarks this weekend, so I'll have one or two then in honor of these fine replicas. Then I'll have one or two for the Frisco, then a couple for the fine weather, then another for Cardinal baseball.....

The weather looks good and the lake should be relatively calm. Hate beer, but love the beer cars. Eventually, my railroad will be accessible by boat!

In continuance with the beer thread, I am starting the finishing paint job on the second beer car of the thread. This car is from the Schober Ice and Brewing Co., San Antonio, 1905-1918. There will be five cars, No. 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18. They are a mix of 36' Reefer's and Box Cars. The cars will be a bluish gray, with black roofs and undercarriage. Ladders, corner plates, corner straps, reefer door trim, hinges, and latch bars will all be black. Lettering is red, white, black and gold. It will be a stunning car. This car will be No. 17, which with her sister No. 18, will round out the reefers. 14, 15, and 16 will be 34' boxcars.

    Pics up soon.

    Coming attractions:

Adolphus Hotel - Four car set, famous for its run on the Frisco between Fort Worth/Dallas and St. Louis
Lone Star Beer - Three car set, seen all throughout Texas and on the Frisco System
Falstaff Lemp - Famous Falstaff Brewery in downtown St. Louis
Malt Nutrine - Anheuser Busch, St. Louis

It's a beer fest on the railroad. All are prototypical cars. No fakers here!

Sorry it has taken so long. Sinus' have taken their toll. Just starting the paint process this week. Pics soon for Schober No. 14, which is a box car. The reefer met an early demise, when I made a mess up I couldn't fix and I can honestly say that refrigerator cars do not, nor can they, fly, or have the ability thereof. LOL...

"Schober No. 14" sounds like a good name for a lager. Schober Lager! Lets get those build photos rolling in. How about a pic of the destroyed car.

Manny, I look forward to seeing the Adolphus hotel cars. Wonder of the TRRA boys have any historical information on them? They were very unique. I also would like to know how they were handled when they got to Dallas and where they were spotted. I haven't played with Google yet but if anybody knows more about the prototypes please post here.

No hurry Manny, when you find the time I would appreciate the proto pix of the Adolphus cars. I Googled to no avail. I'm sure there is info to be found on them and their traffic movement if one knows where to look. I wonder if they were routed Frisco from St. Louis to Dallas or Mopac (Iron Mountain)/T&P or Cotton Belt or even possibly Katy or if the routings were spread out among the carriers?

Do you have any idea who the smallest brewer was in Texas? The largest? Perhaps there is a book on Texas suds?

Hope your bizz venture is on track and on time. Lookin' forward to the web site and all the goodies comin' our way!

    Hi Y'all,

Sorry that I've been amiss. I've been down lately and my sinus' have been kicking me onto the 'Blue flag' track. Anyhow, I finished the paint on the Schoeber Ice and Brewing box car. I decided to paint these differently than the reefers. First two-tone paint job I ever did. Turned out real neat (I think). I'll be painting and adding the ladders, corner straps, polling pocks, cut levers, brake staff, etc., tomorrow. Here are some pics...

Hi Manny, Good looking red. Is this red out of a bottle, or a custom mix?

Thanks guys. I'm working on the trim pieces and details right now. The colors are Polly Scale Aged White and Special Oxide Red. No special mixes involved.

Finished up the "A" end of the car tonight and starting the "B". Once completed, it's glosscote and then decals. I hope to have this car wrapped up by Friday so I can start a Peerless Tank Line for y'all. Here are some pics...
