    SLSF 1103 pulling Kansas Mail - 1942

Here is Engine #1103 pulling the Kansas Mail, the premier passenger train of this route, on its way to Neodesha. The location is probably near what is now the K-96 overpass.

Love the picture of the mail train. I am interested in knowing how many passenger trains. The Frisco had going to Witchita, and when service was discontinued? Do you know of any pictures of Frisco passenger trains. I can find. Going into Joplin Missouri,Fort Smith Arkansas,Clinton Missouri, Hugo Oklahoma, and Paris Texas? Would like info. On how many ran,and when they were discontinued?
    Thanks.

The Kansas Mail had cars that went all the way to St. Louis, and traded hands in Monett, along with cars destined for the Beaumont Sub. The Beaumont sub also saw doodlebug service. Passenger service from Wichita north to Ellsworth was often a mixed train. Passenger serviced was Discontinued in October of 1960. As for pictures, see the attachments.
