to upload photos to an Album with the new system. I call up the File Manager, choose a photo from my computer and it loads but then . . . . nothing seems to happen. What am I missing?

    Thanks.

    This is aimed at everyone.

Assuming you want to add to an existing album:
Click Gallery, My Albums, click on the album you want to add to, then click Upload Pictures, Add Files, Select Files, navigate to the place on your computer where the pictures are, highlight the files, then click Open. The files will upload. Then click Done. You will then see a Pending Pictures box. Select which album you want the files to go into and click Save Changes.

I get through the upload step but when I press DONE it says I must click and drag and existing photo to the lower section of the window. More difficult than the old system. There is no Pending Pictures box just the Alert Box. This is on a MAC. Will that make a difference?

Howdy Rick, the new system is a bit trickier. Sorry you have to use a MAC...friends don't let friends use... To make it easier, there should be a menu selection in the upper lefthand corner of the dialog box that says "Basic Uploader". click it and it will let you add files. Otherwise, click the green button that has a + sign and says, "Add Files", see image insert for example. Hope this helps. ~mike

Thanks for the tips Mike but I can't get the system to upload on a MAC or a PC. It seems to let me load a file but the files does not appear in the "Home" section.

    I give up.

    Howdy Rick,

Perhaps the Home section doesn't matter. You need them to appear in the "Attachments" area at the bottom of the dialog.

    Best,
    mike

Sounds like a good reason, Keith.

Mystery solved. Keith Robinson figured out the problem. It seems the new website file manager doesn't like large files. When my 2 and 3 meg files were reduced to "Web Large - 640 x 480 pixels," the new website can upload/digest my files. Am I the only person that has to manually reduce file sizes? I don't remember doing that with the old system.

As a result, my latest op session photos are load in the New Albums section. Thanks again Keith.

All of my pictures are tiff files and therefore very large, I always have to convert them to JPEC files before they upload, but I have uploaded many 3MB JPEG files to this site.

I used to "reduce" files by emailing them to myself. I'm sure that isn't the "techie" way of doing it. Since the "great update" I don't bother to post photos anymore. Life's too short...

Howdy, I use Picasa, a free program from Google. I select the photos I want to upload, then click the email icon at the bottom. It automatically resizes the photos. I save them in a new folder, then use the folder to upload the images to Frisco.org. Best, mike

Tom, I hate to miss out on your photos for this reason. If you have any to share, I'd be happy for you to e-mail them to me and then I'll deal with the mechanics. PM me if you'd like and I can set you up.

    Best Regards,

I also have no ability to use the "Reply with Quote" with the new system. The little icon just orbits and orbits and orbits. . . . Any suggestions?

I have no problems posting pics to a message, but adding a pic to an album is another matter.

I also agree with Rick's comment about "Reply with Quote". Same experience here as recently as yesterday.

Well Doggies - it worked this time. I have been in the same boat with U. Has nothing to do with the website, I don't think, but I cannot get the "spell check" to work through Google Chrome - pardon my spelling on posting, please.

Simple solution! Just keep hitting the "reply with quote" button until it works. This attempt took 3 hits but usually the second time is the charm.

    Try it, I'm not kidding!

In the words of Olson Johnson, "Hold it men...he's not bluffing!"

I learned the same thing some time ago through impatience. I hit the "Reply with Quote" button a second time and that usually does the trick.

Of course, for this post, I hit it once and it worked A-OK.
