I saw Frisco Covered Hopper #81129 on my way to Doc's Caboose this afternoon, and didn't take a picture.

After speaking with Bob Hoover I was instructed that pictures were in order and I ran back out to grab a shot of this old guy (luckily I live quite close to the bottoms).

I've attached the better of the quick shots I took.

Thanks! Good to see some of the old guys are still rolling under their home colors!

COOL CATCH! There are actually quite a few of our babies still rolling around in their original attire - that other railroad just absorbed a lot of our rolling stock without disturbing the reporting marks (probably because it was cheaper that repainting/renumbering, especially if there was an overlap of our numbers vs theirs).

MFreix, sorry I missed you. I was at Doc's Caboose around 1230 today picking-up some "essential" supplies. Jim Senese

Good work Matt. I am going to be volunteering at the WW I Museum on Sunday and I will check to see if this car is still there and shoot a couple of pix. I think this is a a 4750 cu ft LO in a small MP yard just to the west of Docs.

It seems like years since I have seen a Frisco car still in Frisco paint. Thanks.

It is definitely in the small MP yard just west of Doc's. I took the picture from the empty lot directly east of the restaurant supply place.

Here is my photo on another rainy, cloudy day in KC. I had to figure out how to get around an empty UP auto rack train to get to this car. Even with all the graffiti and reflectors on it, it was like I was 30 years younger again.

I remember seeing one still looking like this but the SLSF was painted over and BN was stenciled over it when I worked for the K&O out of Wichita, If i am not mistaken, it was recieved at interchange with the BNSF and went to Norbert grain Elevator at Conway Springs, where it was loaded and sent back to the BNSF, it wasnt there very long as I remember. I am glad to see them still running out there especially if they are untouched! Great pics! And nice nice Catch! Way to look out!
