SD45 SLSF 943 SD45 SLSF 943 While scanning my negatives for use in the Archives I noticed something different about SD45 SLSF 943. Look at the handrails, they are painted orange. I guess if you have the Athearn ready to run (RTR) model of SD45 SLSF 943 no need to paint the handrails white. The photo of SD45 SLSF 943 that will be posted to the Frisco Archive is much better and more clear. Roger
I can see the rush by everyone now to change their SD45 locomotive number to SLSF 943. LOL! That little tidbit made my stomach less queasy after seeing all that green paint! By the way, nice collection of photographs Just that the name and color are off.
Nice catch Roger. Started looking at other photographs to see if the fireman's side was also Mandarin orange. That would be really interesting to explain if it was not. Best Regards,
SD45 SLSF ??? SD45 SLSF ??? Wreck damage outside the Springfield Diesel Shops, Springfield / Kansas Avenue / West Yard, Springfield, MO. Any guess on the locomotive unit number? May 1977. Zoe McKessy photograph.
I think that was SD45 SLSF 943, look at the post below. http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/926.1182/ In a picture in that thread, it looks like SD45 SLSF 943 had the ring from the radiator fan sticking up like in this photo.
