Please see this action photograph shot of GP40-2 769 and sister near Richland, MO.

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/wchogger/3145071385/sizes/l/

The photo caption indicates train number 33 is a west bound just north of Richland, MO. The second unit is also a GP40-2, SLSF 754. The photograph is dated 10/26/1980.

The train is on the Lebanon Subdivision in route to Springfield. Train 33 was a hot intermodal freight train.

The low afternoon sun nicely captures several details including the whip radio antenna, amber flashing beacon, Leslie RS5T five chime horn, nose Gyralite, engineer in the cab, red "Fire Extinguisher Inside" decal (low on the white band on 1st door behind the F in Frisco), fuel tank and truck detail.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks!

Please see this action photograph shot of GP40-2 769 and 3 sisters at Rolla, MO.

The photo caption indicates train number 33 is west bound. The other 3 units are also GP40-2s. The second unit is SLSF 754. The photo is dated 10/26/1980.

The train is on the Rolla Subdivision in route to Springfield. Train 33 was a hot intermodal freight train headed for Texas. The overpass in the background is East 10th Street. At this point the train is headed southwest through town. Across the tracks is the MFA Rolla Farmers Exchange elevator. MFA stands for the Missouri Farmers Association cooperative.

The low afternoon sun nicely captures several details. The nose Gyralite is flashing and the horn is sounding for local grade crossings. The Rolla depot was a nice looking structure. It is a shame a local effort to save the depot was not successful.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks!

    Amen!

I have a lot of great memories from that old depot.
