the atricle on The Meteor Volume 1, shows how to install the Tsunami and get rid of the circuit board completely. You can use light bulbs or my preffence LEDs for headlight and Mars Light. Even the D13sr will work if you do not want sound.

I can't remember but I think the D13SR doesn't support the green wire function. I know the TCS T1 doesn't. I'll have to check on the D13SR but I don't have time (I hate high school and the home work that comes with it.)

Richard, I am having a difficult time on locating the article on replacing the circuit board with the Tsunami sound decoder. I went through the Volume 1 listing and cannot seem to identify it in all the breakdown catagory's.

Any assistance to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am refering to Volume 1 #3 of the Meteor which is posted on this website. Ethan, you are incorrect, the D13SR suports four functions, both the green and brown wire.

Richard. I am not an electronic wizard, however if you point me the right direction, I can proceed to wire this correctly.

I am going to put a NCE 13 DSRJ in the E unit without using sound. This unit has a mars light, which it has 3 wires, which wire does the drop resister gets connected to it?

Once the headlight and mars light wiring gets figured out, I can proceed with the motor and truck leads and get this racehorse running!

Thank You for any inquiries to this subject!

I do not use lamps in my installs, I only use 5mm White LEDs in the E8As. I remove all of the lamps and insert the LED into the shell housing. It will protrude from the shell, File it down until it is flat with the headlight housing ring. Put One drop of super glue over the LED and it will make a lens. Wire the D13sr Blue lead to both LEDS to their longer lead. Wire the White lead and a 1000 ohm resistor to the lower LED short lead, this is the headlight. Wire the Green wire and a 1000 ohm resistor to the top LED shorter lead. Once done, you will have to program the correct CV for a LED Mars light function according to the sheet that came with the D13 SRJ decoder, I think you will like the effect, much better than lamps.

John, refer to my article in The Meteor Volume 1 No 2. http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/the-meteor-volume-1-issue-2.2611/#post-15961 or my post at the beginning of this thread (post #1).

That project is doing exactly what you want to do, complete with descriptions and pictures (same decoder), it uses the existing bulbs and needs no resistors.
