    Folks,

I'm assuming there was a Frisco Freight House or Depot in the Kansas City area for LCL freight.

Assuming I'm correct, does anyone have a photo, drawings, etc.?

I've been looking at old Sanborn Maps on the University of Missouri Digital Library, but the going is slow.

A part of me almost hopes there wasn't.

At that point I will invoke artistic license, and scratch build the Frisco's Muskogee, OK freight house that I find thoroughly intriguing! :)

    Best Regards

Frisco's Kansas City Freight House was located "under" the 12th Street Viaduct.

These shots were taken during the summer of 1980.

    Karl,

Thanks for posting these photos of the Frisco Freight House at 12th St.

I have been wondering for a long time when that building was raised and if I could use it in my 1975-1978 sessions.

No one in Kansas City could tell me anything about the demo date or even had a photo.

You have answered two key questions.

Now I want to build it.

    Thank you for your help.

    Rick

    Hi Sherrel:

    It's a White.

Neat little trucks with a truly tiny cab.

Frisco had one at the Ft. Smith Yard, painted red, in pig trailer loading/unloading service.

The "Ship IT Piggyback" billboard presumably points to a facility that has moved beyond its initial purpose of handling LCL freight shipments.

Karl, Mark, Keith or others with extensive KC knowledge, did piggyback loading occur here?

It occurs to me that I don't recall seeing any latter day drawings for TOFC loading at either 19th Street or Rosedale.

Fascinating photo of one of my favorite historic railroad area, Bob.

    Best Regards,

Unless I'm misinterpreting your question, look at the lower left of the photo.

There are at least two TOFC's shown.

Maybe another two with trailers loaded?

    Nope, Bob - no misinterpreting.

That's what happens when I try to look at things on a tablet before fully finishing the morning allotment of coffee.

There it is, right where you've noted.

Thanks, and thanks also for the patience. :)

    Best Regards,
